Summary
Daniel and Vala learn how to get along. Be friends, even. They insist that’s all there is to it. They’re wrong.
My notes
A wonderful slow burn that shows Daniel and Vala starting to spend more down time together after a shift in their dynamic has led to a bit of unrest between them.
Vala has been demonstrating a genuine interest in Daniel’s archaeological passions for some time, and while that allows them to work together more seamlessly, it’s also created some friction since nothing has changed on Daniel’s end. This eventually prompts Daniel to offer an olive branch and they start watching one of Vala’s favourite TV shows together, which leads to them generally spending more time developing their friendship.
I love that this premise gives them a cozy and safe way to start letting their walls down with each other without having to worry about immediately dealing with the ramifications of being in ‘a relationship’.
