A lovely little moment set near the end of The Shroud where Vala welcomes Daniel back home and can’t hide how she’s worried for him. One of my favorite quotes: Vala could light up rooms with that smile. No, that cliché was inadequate — she could light up planets. Whole planets.
Vala has come to the realisation that Daniel will never have feelings for her. Moving on is easier said than done, especially if Daniel has anything to say on it.

General Hammond has always believe himself to be a good judge of character, which is why, after an alien space pirate hijacked the Prometheus, he decides to offer the eccentric space pirate a chance to join the SGC, using Daniel Jackson as an incentive to persuade her.
