The Sudden Stop

When Tom and B’Elanna are falsely convicted of an act of terrorism and thrown into an alien prison, they have to rely on each other until Captain Janeway and the crew of Voyager can rescue them. They revisit old ghosts and form unexpected bonds while they fight to survive, but being back on Voyager doesn’t necessarily mean they feel safe again.

My take on The Chute and its aftermath, leading into The Swarm.

My notes:

A really fantastic take on the premise “What if it was Tom and B’Elanna imprisoned in The Chute?” The author immerses you in what living through that experience would have truly been like, and how it would impact Tom and B’Elanna’s relationship with each other, both during and afterward. On the First Day

Written by Hariboo
Rating: General audiences

The twelve days of Christmas are generally typified by two people giving and receiving certain gifts to each other. Sometimes not even on purpose.

My notes:

The sexual tension in this story is bonkers. They capture both Daniel and Vala’s personalities and the flirty, cautious, defensive little dynamic between them so well. I checked if there was a sequel about Daniel and Vala’s week off at his place—because, honestly, I need that in my life—but it sadly does not... Read more

In response to the prompt “Things you said in our vows”. Post Amor Fati fic.

My notes:

Exactly the way Amor Fati should have ended after the touchstone scene. Really well written analysis from Scully’s POV in response to the implications of what Mulder said to her, and to what she then confirmed back to him. Those were essentially wedding vows that were just never acknowledged, along with the rest of t... Read more

Dr. Dana Scully is a last minute replacement amongst the crew of the first human colony on Mars. Dr. Fox Mulder, fellow scientist and crew psychologist, is immediately intrigued.

My notes:

Amazingly well researched AU about Mulder and Scully being among the first pioneers to colonize Mars. Mix in some suspense and some will they won’t they space sex and you’ve got the perfect AU.

One Step at a Time

A series of scenes starting immediately after 10.07 Counterstrike and ending after 10.20 Unending, detailing the progression of Daniel and Vala’s relationship.

All Vala wanted was to conquer the challenge Daniel had unwittingly presented. Once she had her victory, she’d drop it and Daniel wasn’t sure he could survive that.

My notes:

Told from Daniel’s perspective, a small behind the scenes look at Daniel and Vala’s relationship as it evolved after Counterstrike onward. I love the introspective yet cautious way Daniel navigates his need to be around Vala without challenging his comfort zone or confronting his feelings too directly. He’... Read more

Daniel and Vala discover that letting the NID deal with Athena is easier said than done. A Memento Mori sequel that resists simple classification.

My notes:

Both an interesting mission fic and a fun exploration into SG-1’s team bonding and banter-y shenanigans, of which I’m always a fan. The slow burn is delicious, heartwarming, and delightful, as D/V is wont to be. It’s worth highlighting the line “I’ve been so afraid of falling in love again that it took... Read more

Overture in Slow Motion

Rating: Not rated

Overture – noun
1) an opening or initiating move toward negotiation, a new relationship.

Slow motion – adjective
2) moving or proceeding at a slow rate.

Injuries sustained during his trip to Atlantis remind Daniel that “life is short”.

Incomplete

My notes:

Love this one. It really immerses you in the story and the POVs feel very realistic. It’ll probably never be finished, sadly, but if you read it as a prelude more than a full deep dive then it’s satisfying enough.
