Daniel and Vala discover that letting the NID deal with Athena is easier said than done. A Memento Mori sequel that resists simple classification.

My notes:

Both an interesting mission fic and a fun exploration into SG-1’s team bonding and banter-y shenanigans, of which I’m always a fan. The slow burn is delicious, heartwarming, and delightful, as D/V is wont to be. It’s worth highlighting the line “I’ve been so afraid of falling in love again that it took... Read more

Finding Our Way Back

Fandom: The X-Files
Rating: Explicit

After thirteen years of their romantic relationship, Mulder becomes ensnared in the dark realm of his personal quest for truth and his obsessions, all the while descending into the grips of depression. Despite Scully’s earnest pleas for him to seek help, Mulder finds himself unable to extricate himself from this abyss. Consequently, Scully feels compelled to make the difficult decision to leave him.

One year later, Skinner contacts them with the hope that they will contribute their expertise in addressing a mounting array of paranormal cases. Despite being separated throughout this period, Mulder and Scully both agree to undertake the temporary assignment. During their collaboration, they endeavor to rediscover the paths leading back to each other.

This fic takes off during season 10, but it deviates away from the William arc. This story is about Mulder and Scully finding their way back to each other.

My notes:

This is just so much better than the revival. No CC mythology/William garbage, this is all about Mulder and Scully’s journey back to each other after Mulder got lost in his darkness.

Judge of Character

General Hammond has always believe himself to be a good judge of character, which is why, after an alien space pirate hijacked the Prometheus, he decides to offer the eccentric space pirate a chance to join the SGC, using Daniel Jackson as an incentive to persuade her. He also interested to see how things play out between her and a certain archeologist.

Smidge of J/S.

My notes:

Really well-paced and has excellent mission storylines. I love the premise of Vala being drawn into the fold right after Prometheus Unbound by Hammond. I always thought we never got to see enough of Vala and the way she so seamlessly integrated into SG-1. I love how this slight venture into AU territory makes the beginning... Read more
